Have you had many poeple pass away or die that were close to you?

Would you not give up the necklace if you had that choice or to give it away?

Why do you believe in God but don’t have a religon to call your own?

Do you plan on keeping the necklace forever or pass it on to someone?

Six Word Story

Death, cloth and rose remember her.

My Object Story

Filed under: Uncategorized — Hannalyn at 12:42 pm on Tuesday, August 28, 2012

This is a story about my object.

My object is: A rose and piece of hand made cloth.

1: Discovery.

This is the story of my first encounter with this object. This is my first impression of the object.

It was a few days after my great grandma died and the family was going to clean out the house. Everyone got to keep something in her memory. The adults kept things that my great grandma had from when they went vist her when they were young. Then the children kept things that we remember from her. I found the rose and my mother gave me the cloth she had.

2: Meaning.

This is how my object gained meaning. This is how my object’s meaning has changed over time.

The rose and cloth gained meaning to me because it is the only thing I have that reminds me of my great grandma. The meaning hasn’t really changed over time. It is just there to remind me of her.

3: Value.

This is what my object says about me.

I was just old enough to start remembering things from when I was younger. So my great grandma was someone who inspired me, because she had done just about everything. The best part is she did it wearing heels! She never went any where without them. So I hope to just as many things as she did.  Seeing the rose and cloth everyday reminds me of how great she was and how someday to be as great as she was. It shows how determind I am.

4: Reward.

This is the best reward I get from owning my object.

The reward is I have something to remind me of my great grandma and motivate me to do my best.

5: Sharing.

If I were to give this object to someone else, this is who I’d give it to, and this is what I would say to them.

I honestly wouldn’t want to give the rose and cloth to anyone, but if I had to I would probably give it to my mom. She is the only one I would trust with it and who would care for it.

6: Description.

This is what my object looks like, feels like, and smells like.

It looks like a rose with some grass and other small flowers around it. It is also in cased in a box. The cloth is a beige with pink embordory. They don’t really have a smell. The rose doesn’t really feel like anything except a box, and the cloth feeling it may have nothing feeling to others. To me I feel my great grandma.

7. More.

This is another short story about my object. Or, this is a space for me to write even more about my object’s Discovery, Meaning, Value, Reward, & Sharing.

Im so glad to have my object because other wise I wouldn’t have anything to remind me of my great grandma. She was on of my favorite people ever. She was know as the orange juice and popcorn grandma.

A tree from a worm’s eye view

Make a tall person look small

Make a small person look tall

Photograph the same grave from a worm’s eye view and then again from a crane’s eye view

Photograph something close-up and then again far away so that each photo looks like it is a different object/place.

Can you trick us?  Take a photo that plays with our sense of space so that we are confused about point of view, proportion, and scale

Hannalyn Ohlsen I’m 14, and a freshman in Seward High School.  I haven’t done many things with film making. The only things I have done related to it is in middle school we made a couple slide shows.  I am very excited about art and can’t wait to learn about film making and much more.
